Tomorrow (by the clock, today) is when I get to find out whether I've been fired. I can't think of any reason I might not have been. Apparently the owner has quite a temper, and he was already pissed at me for the speeding ticket, even though it wouldn't go on my record and not affect his insurance.

Then there was the dent in the bumper I put in one car the other day.

And now this. If there's any chance of this affecting their insurance rates, as an accident report surely must, there's no way they can keep this from the owner. Which means I'm out like a light.

I'm telling myself that, trying to keep away any hope that I might have kept the job, so it won't be such a crushing disappointment when the hammer falls. But darn it, I loved this job, for the short time that I had it. It was so perfect for me.

If only I'd been more careful.

I'm trying to get to sleep, and I just can't...I know that the horror of finding out whether or not I'm fired awaits me when I wake up.

Well, my luck may be lousy, but at least it's consistent.

I HAD ANOTHER ACCIDENT TODAY.

It wasn't my fault—I was sitting in the passing lane at a stoplight, when the proverbial little old granny lady tried to pull up in the left turn lane to the left of me, sideswiped my car, and knocked the rearview mirror off. It wasn't my fault—and the lady is the one who got the ticket—but it sure didn't make me feel good today.

In better news...I may not be fired after all. Yet. I'm probably going to get royally reamed out by the boss, but the supe thinks I have a pretty good chance of staying on for a while. I hope. Oh, I so hope.

Someone up there must be trying to tell me something.

So the meeting this afternoon with the boss went okay. Better than I'd expected. I told him I'd be more careful, then I went to perform my evening rounds.

About an hour and a half ago, I sideswiped a lady's car. Minimal damage, but we had to report it. I got a Failure to Yield ticket.

So, that's three accidents in two days of driving.

I held it together long enough to make it back to the office, and broke down sobbing.
