Orthopedist visit results
Jun. 6th, 2011 09:34 pmSo anyway, I saw my orthopedist doctor today. He took some new x-rays (one of which I posted to my Facebook wall), and told me that essentially the broken bone wasn't displaced too far, and that it was possible it would heal okay in that position—however, it was also possible that it wouldn't.
He gave me the choice of wearing a cast for six weeks and finding out where I was after that, or having surgery on the arm to put a plate and screw into it. The benefit of the operation would be that then I would not need a cast, as the bone would be fixed in place. The downside is, of course, it would be an operation.
( I've decided to go for the operation. Also, I turned in an accident insurance claim form. )
And that's all I have from the medical front. Will say more as it happens.
