Plugging a friend's web journal...

OK, so, I think it's time for me to plug a new webjournal written by a friend of mine, demiurgent. The journal is called Websnark (aka websnark but if you read it that way you lose out on the fun of seeing what text ads Google thinks are most appropos to the content of the site), and it's primarily a review and criticism of web comic strips. As far as I know, there haven't been many (or any?) sites devoted strictly to reviewing web comic strips before, and demiurgent is a pretty darned good reviewer: he talks about what's good as well as what's bad, and can usually find at least some good in a bad comic and vice versa.

But hey, don't read it because I say to. Read it because Lore Sjoberg says to.

Free iPod/Flatscreen status report

It's been a week since I signed up for the free iPod, and a couple of days less than that since I signed up for the free flatscreen TV. Here's how things stand at the moment.

Free iPod: 11 potential referrals (I got the last half-dozen or so in a big lump, before I could remove the referral tag from my Slashdot signature)...but of those, only 3 actual offer completions so far. I find that kind of depressing; I thought that having so many potentials, I'd surely get a bunch of actuals fairly quickly. I don't know; maybe some of them signed up for offers that take some time to register completion. I sure hope so.

If any of you reading this are among those who signed up to help me get an iPod and haven't completed the offer yet, please do so—and if I haven't already, I'll be glad to add your referral link to my conga line of referrals.

Free Flatscreen: 4 potential referrals (half the total I need), no actual completions so far. I'm holding off on completing my own offer for this one until I see if I actually get enough completions to earn the TV. The TV isn't exactly as urgent a need for me. It can wait a while, and I'll let my Slashdot and net signatures pointing to my conga line do their work. It's gotten 377 hits so far, which isn't bad at all.
