One of the most intensely frustrating things about having a messed up room is that things tend to get eaten by it.

At the moment, I'm tearing up my room looking for The Sims: Livin' Large. Given that I just ordered the next Sims add-on, I'm going to want to reinstall everything from the beginning just so I can be certain it'll work right. In order to do that, I need Livin' Large...but at the moment, I have no idea where it is. I found The Sims and House Party...but L.L. eludes me. And the worst of it is, I have no idea where it might be--it's been months since I last Simmed, and the possibilities are driving me crazy.

Is it mixed in with my other games, though I've already been through them all twice and not found anything?

Is it under or behind my bureau? Or in one of the drawers, covered by clothing?

Is it under my bed?

Did it somehow manage to fall off my kitchenette counter into the space behind the stove?

Did it work its way into some hidden position under my VCR?

Is it on my overcluttered bookshelf?

I'm going to have to check and recheck all those places...and for all I know, I still may not find it.

It's the kind of worry that eats at my mind...and I won't be over it until I find the darned disc.

Back to the search grind, I guess. I'll rummage for another hour, then try to clean up the mess I've made in cleaning so I can go to bed. And search some more tomorrow.

No rest for the wicked...and not a lot of satisfaction, either. :(

Well, don't I feel stupid.

I pulled all the CDs and stuff out of my CDROM shelf and went through them one by one...and there was Livin' Large, stuck right in there. It seems that, unlike its brethren, the Livin' Large disc doesn't happen to have its name printed on the CD cover's spine. It's just a nondescript sort of gray, and I passed it right over.

On the one hand, it's annoying as anything that it was right there in front of me all the time. On the other, my room does seem to have a lot more open space now that I've gone through stacking things and filling up four kitchen trash bags with Stuff To Throw Out. Now I just need to clean off my bed, shower off the sweat I worked up while rummaging, and climb into it.

Maybe tomorrow I'll go ahead and raze my Sims install again and put this new one in, and hope that I can get the buffet tables to work right for a change.

Ah well...at least during the cleanup process, I found a few more things that might possibly be salable on eBay...

Well, I didn't want to have to do it, but I did.

I went ahead and put my Rio 600 mp3 player up for auction on eBay.

I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, as an MP3 player, it's not all that great anyway...the only way you can put a decent amount of music on it is to make it sound terrible. On the other hand, it was nice for listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks while I was out and about, and it probably won't fetch all that much money anyway. Probably not enough to pay for all the time I spent digging through trash cans to find enough Pepsistuff access codes to win it.

The reason I did it was that I got a phone call today...seems I forgot about the second half of my car insurance, which is a $130 expense. I'm just barely breaking even on expenses right now, and for that to come up? Well, I need to get some cash and pay it off.

Thus, what started as a, "Hmm, maybe I could sell this" endeavor has rapidly turned into an "oh my god I've got to sell things fast!" endeavor. So I'm throwing things up on the auction site as fast as I can dig them out of my room, and hoping that they'll turn out to be worth enough to someone that they feel inclined to bid.

Why don't you look right here and see if you want anything I'm selling?

Gah...back to rummaging.

Well, I have a copy of The Sims coming that I don't really need. I was planning to ask around to see if any of my friends wanted it, and failing that, to sell it on eBay...then it occurred to me...I could ask here, too.

So...anyone wanna buy The Sims? $20, including cost of shipping (assuming you're in the USA. Otherwise, we'll have to talk :). I should have it in hand sometime late next week.

If you do want to buy it, leave a comment on this message, so that other folks will know it's "taken" and I won't get bombarded by email.

Thanks!
