Another few days, another journal entry . . .

Work goes on as usual at the bankrupt retailer, with not terribly much excitement. In regard to the cash register service plan commission thing of the other day, the managers continue to be confused about the operation of their cash registers. The personnel manager claims that the reports the computer manager gives her do not give individual cashier numbers for such things; the store manager says that the reports he gets do, and he'll see that she gets a copy of them.

Meanwhile, some of the other associates claim that they've been told conflicting things about how we're supposed to pricematch--whether we're supposed to use this key or that key, or whether we're supposed to do it at all--it seems that our store has been doing way too many price-promises and Power to Please overrides. And yet, we have to do them if the customer wants them, or risk offending the customer.

Honestly, in In Nomine terms, I think that our cash registers must be a Tether for the Game.
Sigh, I haven't heard back from that person I mentioned in the last entry, who said something about being willing to send my resume to various headhunters in regions of my interest. I wonder if he had been going to ask me for money to do it, but was scared off by my referral to such things as scams? I wouldn't mind paying to cover mailing expenses or whatever, I suppose--I have no idea how to reach headhunters, or I'd be sending my resume out myself. Maybe I can find something about doing that on the web. (If anyone reading this entry knows some ideas, please feel free to follow up.)

I got my W2 yesterday, so I can finally file my taxes when I have the free time to install the TurboTax software. Joy. Wonder if I'll get anything back this year?
