Hey, [livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning, this might interest you.

While doing some wikipedia browsing on Clancy Brown, I stumbled across mention of a direct to video animated Conan: The Barbarian film, (IMDB entry) based on the novel Red Nails, being produced by some studio I've never heard of for distribution through New Line. The director doesn't appear to have any really big film credits to his name—he directed a couple of recent My Little Ponies videos, and Transformers: Go-Bots—but he has a long list of credits in the animation industry going all the way back to storyboard work on Blackstar in 1981. One of the two production studios involved seems to be working on a couple of other Howard-related projects, too: Vultures for 2008, and a film titled simply Conan the Barbarian for 2009. Details are sparse on those films.

The website hasn't been updated since December, but there are a number of screenshots, wallpapers, and the like, and they look like they've got the look and feel of Conan down right. And the cast includes Ron Perlman (as Conan), Cree Summer, James Marsden, Clancy Brown, and Mark Hamill.

I wonder why I've never heard of this before. More importantly, I wonder when it will be out on video; I can't find any release date more specific than "2008."
