At Arkansas Anime

robotech_masterGot up this morning about 6:30. I'd set the alarm for 7:30, but I was awake at 7:30 and figured, why spend an hour tossing trying to get back to sleep when I could just hit the road an hour early?
Went by Sam's first thinking to get gas, but didn't realize they didn't open until 10 on Sunday. So I went around the James River loop and took 60 down to Aurora, stopping for gas at the Republic Wal-Mart along the way. (They had the lowest gas price I saw this trip, too: $2.49, or $2.46 from a Wal-Mart gift card.) Headed down to Monett, south through Purdy, Cassville, Washburn, and Seligman, and eventually arrived at the Bentonville Clarion.
Met and talked to Richard Epcar (Ben Dixon, Lunk, Grel, Vince Grant from Robotech; Batou from Ghost in the Shell, Goemon from Castle of Cagliostro and Jigen from Geneon's Lupin III) and Robert Axelrod (Rico from Robotech, Finster and Lord Zedd from Power Rangers). Had Epcar autograph a whole bunch of Robotech stuff and taped an interview with Axelrod on my iPad for Space Station Liberty. Will try to tape a brief interview with Epcar later today.
Epcar had a lot of fun with the autographs. When he autographed the Ben Dixon page in my Robotech Art 1, he drew in the steak that Ben never got to finish. The interview with Axelrod went well; I can't wait to edit and post it to my podcast. I've not exactly done a whole bunch of them for the last couple of years.
Now I'm sitting in the voice actor Q&A room, listening to both Axelrod and Epcar answer fan questions. Then later this afternoon, back up to Springfield again.
