Well, good morning to me. I just got up, and it is now time for me to get dressed and get ready to go to work. As this will take longer than usual, given how difficult it is to get dressed with only one good arm. Not looking forward to finding out how badly I'm going to do at work today. Probably going to undo all the good performance record I've built up over the last few weeks, as I now have to take longer between each call to type in notes about what happened.

And I just realized the human resources department won't even be open today, so I can't see about my insurance. I guess that also explains why I am going to have to call my orthopedist tomorrow, rather than today.

Time to get a move on, I suppose. I'm not going to dress myself. Oh wait, I guess I am.

Happy Memorial Day.

It turns out I may have been needlessly pessimistic. My day actually went pretty well, even though I did have to scramble to get some of the notes for my calls typed in properly. The pain in my arm was not too bad, and I talked to some pretty decent people today.

I also learned that my supervisor's supervisor was impressed by increases in my performance lately, which is always a good thing. And, of course, I racked up the double pay for working on Memorial Day.

Of course, I am feeling rather worn out at the end of the day—walking around in constant low-level pain will do that to you—and I am really glad to be home. But the funny thing is, in a way I'm almost glad this happened. If it hadn't, I would never have gotten around to experimenting with Windows speech recognition.

Anyway, that's how my day went. Looking forward to calling the orthopedist tomorrow and getting an appointment set up to get a real cast put on his arm.
