- Thu, 15:27: If anyone wants a Dreamwidth (LJ-clone) invitation, let me know. I have some to dispense.
- Fri, 11:32: When they ask if my medical history has changed, I have this urge to say, "Funny you mention that. There was this man in a blue box..."
- Fri, 11:46: In the "Mickey Mouse's watch" department, I wonder if My Little Ponies would wear a Lady Gaga necklace. http://bit.ly/kIf4tr

Equestria girls are kinda magical…
May. 27th, 2011 09:33 amThe Hub just released a 90-second promo video for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, an extended version of a 30 second commercial that's been airing lately. And the Internet fandom is going crazy given that it contains a couple of explicit shout-outs to them.
And now I'm going to have the refrain stuck in my head all day.

Joplin thoughts
May. 27th, 2011 10:20 pmTomorrow I'll be heading west along I-44 to visit the chiropractor in Carthage. After my visit, I'm thinking I might head on over to Joplin to see what I can see of the devastation. Don't know how close I'll be able to get; it's possible that the police will have the area cordoned off, so I doubt I can actually get into it.
But I want to get at least some kind of look at the devastation in person. You just can't experience that sort of thing from pictures. It's not going to feel real to me until I've seen it in person.
In one of those odd little coincidences life hands you sometimes, I got a call from someone in Joplin on the phone today at work. I expressed my hopes that he and his family had come through OK, and he said they had, though his father had lost his business. He said he was just thankful they were all alive.
I would be too.
