Medical study follow-up
May. 16th, 2007 06:26 pmWell, I dropped back by the medical study clinic again and got the fishnet tank top and the electrodes removed. What a relief! And as a further relief, wearing it was only a qualifier for this particular study; I'm not going to have to wear it during the study. That's a big load off my mind for sure.
Now I have to wait until Wednesday to find out whether I made it in, but I can't imagine that I wouldn't have.
One other thing I noticed from the briefing packet is that the results of my labwork can be shared with my doctor. Which would be good if I currently had a doctor, given that I'm without health insurance at the moment, but I'm sure I'll have one eventually. And I can only imagine that such tests as EKGs or 24 hours of Holter monitoring that would normally be quite expensive will be quite useful to such a doctor if I get oneāand a nice thing to have gratis as a result of the study.
Assuming I'm accepted, I'm going to have two weekend stays, one Sunday night to Monday morning stay, and then four early morning visits to the clinic. It might put a little extra stress on me at work, but for an extra $800, I'll put up with it.
Meanwhile, I have a phone interview with the Columbia Tribune on Friday.
