I just heard from a friend that the credit card database of Netsuite—the company that handles credit card stuff for Valve's cybercafes—may have been compromised. Apparently Valve told iGames, and it's being discussed on the iGames private forums, but people who post about it in the Valve Cybercafes forum get their posts deleted.

Apparently credit card companies and the FBI have already been notified about what card numbers were compromised.

It's rumor relayed by about three degrees of separation, but if your credit card is active with Netsuite, you might want to consider sending off for a new one—or at least keep an eye out for any news that confirms or denies a security breach.

Well, there's one fewer alleged nutbar running around my town tonight. That can only be a good thing.

Although I'm worried now that there might be a backlash against all the perfectly sane people who decorate their front doors with a smiley face with a bullethole in its forehead…

Sandy was at last able to come over again tonight. We watched Giant Robo #4, GinRei #1, and Giant Robo #5. I had hoped we could fit GinRei #2 in, but Sandy had to go home. Ah well. There's always next time!

Since I got my new job, I always have this weird free-floating anxiety this time of evening, right before it's time for bed. It took me a few days to figure out why it was: in my old job, this was the time I was supposed to have run the support ticket queue, and I'd catch hell if I forgot.

So even though I have a day job that requires typing things in, with no support queue checking required, I still get edgy at bedtime, it's such a conditioned response.

I wonder how long it will take to go away.
