Well, this weekend is when it happens: the first weekend locked in the dormitory to take part in the medical experiment for $500 extra cash which I desperately need. I'm not looking forward to it. Ironically, the reason I'm not looking forward to it has nothing whatsoever to do with drugs and needles and things; it's the fact that I probably won't have access to the Internet during that time.
And of course the new update to City of Heroes just went live today.
Well, at least I have a new (old) laptop to see me through the weekend.
tbutler came down on Saturday and brought it; it's the same model Wallstreet I had previously had (though I think the monitor may actually be smaller, or that may just be my imagination). Technically, I'll need to pay him for it at some point, but he was very understanding of the situation in which I find myself. I brought the laptop in to work today in order to be able to spend the time to download updates and patches and things for it that I never can seem to find in the evenings when I'm busy playing City of Heroes. Good thing I did, too; it's taken pretty much the entire workday to get it up to snuff. I'll probably keep it here through to Friday; that way my bro can pick me up and we'll go right from work to the medical labs.
I've got a wireless card and a sniffer, so I'll be able to see if there are any open wireless networks in the area. If not, well, I'll take every old Mac-compatible game I have and spend the weekend getting reacquainted with them, and/or watching DVDs with the rest of the bunch. I'll find some books I've been meaning to reread, too, and take them. I sure do hope that there's some way to surf the Internet from there, though...I hate being cooped up without the ability to check mail.
