Well, somewhere people are watching anime and playing roleplaying games and things and drinking caffeinated beverages to stay up late into the night. But there is no joy in Mudville, Mighty Casey has struck out. Or something like that. I decided to skip VisionCon entirely after all and stayed home to play with my new DVD burner and watch TV and stuff. I did make a brief pass by last night, nervously looking around for con security, but didn't really see anyone I knew.

I've had a bit of fun burning things with the new DVD burner. It's amazing how darned fast it is...and it works! I can even burn audio CDs from iTunes. I'm in the process of downloading the ISOs for Baen books for which I didn't have a CD burner handy when they came out...but the download process is slow; they may not even be done by tomorrow.

It's been kind of a lazy Saturday; I've been watching some of the episodes of the latest season of 24 I've downloaded. Wow. More twisty turns than an Ozarks country road...including some new twists on old plot types from prior seasons. Just when you think, "Oh, that's just like when..." and draw parallels...boom, they change it all around on you. More I dare not say, for fear of spoilage.

Well, okay, a few specific comments under the cut. If you haven't yet seen this season and plan to, don't read it.

Thalia
~Thalia~
Your muse is Thalia, the Flourishing. She is the
muse of comedy, and her symbol is the comic
mask. You love comedy, whether it be Monty
Python, Mel Brooks, Terry Pratchett, or Jim
Carey. I have no doubt I'll see you on Comedy
Central sometime soon...

Which of the Nine Muses is your muse?
