No subject, really...just stuff.
Nov. 19th, 2003 11:18 pmAnother fun day at work. Didn't get too many really bad calls...just enough calls to wear me down. Took off a little early, since they said I could, and headed home, picking up a nice order of sate pork from the Chinese place on the way. You know, the cellphone is a great invention. I can keep a take-out menu in my car, place the order as soon as I get off work, and by the time I reach the restaurant, on my way home, it's ready to pick up. Yum.
I was awakened again at 7:30 by the car, though this time I was able to get back to sleep after a while. But enough was enough. After I got off work, I called the station, and they promised to send an officer over to talk to the guy. He arrived about four hours later, at a not terribly opportune time as I'd just started a game of Starcraft, but I talked to him, and he said he'd go talk to the guy. Hope it works. I'd just as soon not have to escalate it further by filing a formal complaint.
Speaking of muffler situations, as I was coming out of the mall after eating lunch today, I noticed my muffler sort of semi-dangling behind my car at an odd angle. Seems the bracket that holds it in place has lost its bolts or something. Most annoying...especially since I don't have the money to get it fixed, nor do I foresee having that money any time within the next few months. I just hope it doesn't fall off completely until I can afford to do something about it.
Watched a few episodes of the Lupin III TV series tonight, finishing out the rental DVD so I can send it back in to Greencine tomorrow. It's going to be good to get some movement on the discs so as to be able to watch more stuff. I'm impressed with Greencine's new "personal series" feature, that lets you arrange selections from your queue into series that need to be sent in order, so you don't get Disc 4 of a series before Disc 1. It simplifies my queue management considerably. Also played the Max Payne II demo, the first few scenes of the game. It only served to whet my appetite for more. I want to play it very badly...however, I don't want to play it $40 worth of badly. Oh well...maybe someone will get it for me for Christmas.
Probably better go ahead and shower and get ready for bed now. More later on.
