Yesterday, I called the local AT&T shop and asked if the GSM system was back up yet. They said it was, so I drove on down there...only to find that while the GSM system was indeed back up, the migration system—the widget that would move all the info from my old account over to the new one—wasn't expected to be up until next week. "I wish you'd told me that when I called," I said. And they said, "You didn't ask about migration, you just asked about GSM." Grumble. If it weren't for that pricey contract, I'd definitely be investigating other options right about now

Anyway, I managed to turn it into a productive trip by eating breakfast and picking up some necessities at Kmart, doing a little shopping at the Deal$ dollar shop, then heading back home. I spent most of the rest of the day playing computer games, cleaning my apartment, and watching The Matrix Reloaded again as preparation for seeing The Matrix Revolutions today with the folks. I hope it's better than the buzz I've been hearing leads me to fear.

Well, the parentals came up today, and my Dad, brother, and I watched The Matrix: Revolutions. It was interesting. I don't think I'm going to say it's as bad as other people have been saying. Heck, it's kind of unfair to a movie with such an interconnected storyline to compare them to each other. The trilogy as a whole, I liked.

After that, we headed back to my apartment, with a brief stop at Chopsticks, a very good little Chinese restaurant that's opened near my place. Then we moved some furniture around so that I could put my desk a bit closer to the center of my room. This has enabled me to place the outlying speakers of my computer's 5.1 sound system with a bit more separation...and now it sounds wonderful. I watched Spirited Away earlier, and now I'm watching The Eagles: Hell Freezes Over–with the 5.1 Dolby track for the first time ever, and it sounds some darned good. (Since this means I can access a "bonus track," "Seven Bridges Road," that's only available to folks with surround, I'm very pleased.)
