Post-Visit
Jun. 9th, 2003 12:51 amWell, the visit's over, I'm facing work tomorrow, and have a bit of post-visit depression. You know how it is, when you anticipate something for over two weeks, and you can put aside and live through minor annoyances secure in the knowledge that it's "just X more days" until the Great Event happens. And then it happens, it's fun and all, but then it's over—and not only do you come down off of the fun-high of the overall experience, you then have all those day to day annoyances and drudgery facing you again, without any great new event to look forward to. It's my own little mini-post-holiday season, I guess. Kind of depressing when you think about it.
Another minor factor, I suppose, is the way that I've now got this neat gadget—a Belkin wireless/Ethernet router—sitting on my shelf, blinking merrily away...but I don't yet have a second computer, wireless or otherwise, with which to use it. So I've got this spiffy new toy...but as yet, no actual way to play with it. Earlier today, I got to use a computer of the exact same model that I'll be buying in a couple of weeks whenever it's ready, and it just whetted my appetite...I wish it would go ahead and be ready so I can get it. (I imagine I'm setting myself up for yet another "holiday experience" with that expectation...but then, so it goes.)
