(no subject)

So, today I dragged out one of my phone books and called up the woman who was also in the Bookcrossing report with me, aided by the fact that she had an unusually-spelled name so I could be certain of finding the right listing right away. As it turned out, I did, and we talked for a few minutes. Afterward, I did a websearch on her name, and it turned out she's apparently a member of the board of directors of the restoration effort on an old vintage movie palace not far from my apartment. Her name is unique enough that it's almost certainly not a coincidence. It's rather neat, and she seemed to be a quite decent person.

The most annoying thing happened last night while en route to the family fireworks display--the power steering in my car went out! On my Dad's advice, I bought a bottle of power steering fluid today and was going to try to put it in to see if I was just fluid-low...but I couldn't find the darned place to put it in! The picture in my car's manual was quite unhelpful, as it did not seem to match up to any of the engine that I could find. Well, I have to drive down to Cassville to close out my savings account tomorrow anyway; I guess I might as well stop by the parental place on the way back (or there) and let him fiddle with it.

Placed a few more books for BookCrossing today. I wonder if the recent news report will mean more publicity, more books, more releases, and more readers? Can only hope.
