So, not only are non-paid accounts less reliable, connection-wise, than paid LJ accounts (and even the paid LJ accounts are sometimes flaky), but now their connections are artificially slowed to dialup bandwidth as well.

Of course, I can understand their reasoning, bandwidth problems being what they are...but still, it's a little annoying to look around the Internet and see all these sites coming up with ways to make more of their subscribers pay for their services. Tends to make a fellow cynical.

I just had a very frazzling experience.

I got home from work at K-Mart about half an hour ago...was just staggering in the door, eyeing the chair with intentions of relaxation on my mind...when I reflexively felt of my left rear pocket and noticed...my wallet was missing.

Now, when I'd gotten to work today, I'd accidentally locked my keys in the car, so I'd had to use the emergency key from my wallet to open the door and get in...and at the time, I also had a package I'd bought at the office supply store nearby...so I guessed I might have been distracted and left my wallet sitting on the top of the car. A quick look around the interior didn't turn it up...and so, my heart in my mouth, I got back into my car and drove back down to my K-Mart to look for it, prepared to slowly retrace my route in hopes of seeing a little black billfold on the ground...

I was about 4/5 of the way there when I thought to check between the passenger seat and the passenger door...sometimes when I put items on the seat and make a turn, they fall into there. And...there it was. I must have tossed it onto the seat with my package, intending to put it in my pocket later, and forgotten about it.

Annoyingly, it took about twice as long to get back (thanks to rush-hour traffic) as it did to get there. I sure could have done with finding my wallet before leaving the apartment.

Well, at least I can relax for a while, now...

Glancing at the webpage, I see that so far 1,238 people have signed up for the Livejournal Meetups. That's nice...I hope they go well. What's annoying is that only three people have yet signed up for the Springfieldian one...even though I know there are a lot more LJ'ers in Springfield than that. Come on, people! If there are fewer than five people in an area, there isn't a meetup!

Grumble.
