This is why I don't do the laundry very often.

I took this test from a link in [livejournal.com profile] gwenix's journal entry. The results...seem rather odd to me. So I'm only half-compatible with her as a friend...but almost perfectly compatible to have a relationship? Weeeeeeird.

I happened upon an article at Wired News about how an ISP is hosting the entire 3 1/2 minute video of Daniel Pearl being murdered. Out of a sort of morbid curiosity, I took a look. I'll spare the gory details and provide my overall impression below.

If you'd rather not read about it, don't click here. )

Although I was disgusted and horrified by the video, and ended up wishing I hadn't watched it, I have to agree with the ISP's decision to put it up. People have a right to see for themselves exactly what sort of monsters we're facing--and how truly implacable they are. I have nothing against ordinary citizens of Pakistan, or other Middle-Eastern nations, but there can be no peace with the sort of implacable terrorist factions who enjoy slaughtering Americans. We cannot afford to be lulled into thinking that they're "just a bunch of crazy fanatics," either. They have shown an ability to carry out intricate plans, to use high-tech equipment, and to coordinate their strikes for maximum impact. We dare not underestimate them again.

Okay, color me impressed. I've just found out about a lending library...that works by mail. Booklend sends out books with return postage mailers...for free. They eat the cost of shipping both ways; you just have to sign up.

Funky...

Weird...I happened to get in touch with another Springfield, Missouri-based gamer via the RPGnet forums. He saw my posts, must have checked my profile or something, because he then messaged me about how it was nice to see another RPGnet user from Springfield. What's more, it seems that he picked up Nobilis from the same store I did...the store that only ordered it in because I asked them to. Neat.

So now we're sending messages back and forth via the RPGnet fora, and I'm waiting to hear from him, hitting reload every so often. Hope he's not done reading the web for the night so he won't get back to me 'til tomorrow.

I keep saying I hate these stupid personality test things...but it gets a lot harder to be convincing when I keep finding ones that interest me...
