- Fri, 07:35: I dreamed about a TV show about a star scout who had a braintape-and-clone system so she'd come back after dying in interesting ways.
- Fri, 07:36: Funny, but until I put it down that way, I didn't realize how much that sounded like Aeon Flux. But this was a more serious show.
- Fri, 07:37: In between scouting planets and things, she'd solve crimes. Oh, and I dreamed that @BruceRedux was a producer or writer for it. Weird.
- Fri, 07:38: I dreamed it was live action cut with animation from other shows, with characters inserted or redrawn to represent ones from that show.
- Fri, 07:39: And instead of video discs, it came in cartridges that were replica Japanese cell phones packaged in metal tins.
- Fri, 07:41: Also dreamed about some kind of buddy action movie, where two guys and a woman, none of whom knew each other, were going cross country.
- Fri, 07:42: They all had special abilities and secrets they wouldn't tell each other about. One of them might have been from the future or something.
- Fri, 09:00: The Blind Man Who Taught Himself To See http://t.co/Lz4dmSUh2q And you thought Daredevil was entirely fictional.
- Fri, 11:05: I think it's about fifteen to twenty years too late to get upset about people writing for no pay on the Internet. #futurechat
- Fri, 11:06: I certainly would like to get paid for everything I write on the Internet. Where's the modern equivalent of ThemeStream? #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:07: During the Dot Com Boom, I made about $3K dollars writing for dime-a-hit, then nickel-a-hit, then two-cents-a-hit Themestream. #Futurechat
- Fri, 11:08: Then Themestream went belly-up. Imagine that. Seems like there wasn't actually enough money in blogging to let them stay afloat. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:09: I wonder if another run at something like #Themestream would work. Something that paid reasonably, not if-you-build-it rates. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:12: I write for a commercial blog, and while I do get paid something, it is well below market rates. But I do it b/c I enjoy it. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:13: But then, I was recently filled in on how much ad revenue it really makes, and it was nowhere near what I'd expected. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:14: I'm not really sure there's enough money *in* the Internet for everyone to get paid fairly for writing on it. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:15: And there will always be people willing to write cheap or free, just like there will always be burger-flippers for McDonald's. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:31: I would really love to see someone try a ThemeStream-style startup today. Pay writers 75% of ad revenue their piece brings in. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:32: Or some livable percentage. Something more than half, anyway. Like e-book stores do for self-publishing. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:33: Why don't we have this now? With so many more people on the net, seems like it might be more likely to self-sustain now. #FutureChat
- Fri, 11:37: Every time I've gotten paid reasonably for Internet writing--Themestream, http://t.co/NcDVfHdGqI--the program went belly-up. #Futurechat
