First, lol, AEI.

Second, there's a solution here: the CEO could simply say, I thank the board for their compensation offer, and I will be returning 90% of it as I believe that this amount would be more seemly. The amount I'm returning will be used to raise the salaries of the rest of the company/donated to everyone else's 401(k)s/will be stacked in large bricks for use as a playset by children of the company's employees.

Boo hoo, I only took what the market says was fair is the lamest form of ethical cop out.
