Hachette cares about profits for the senior executives and the share holders. Amazon cares about customers being happy because happy customers buy more stuff.
Nexus 7 vs. Galaxy Tab 4 7.0": Take a look at nVidia Tegra NOTE 7. Not as slick/thin/light as the Nexus but better build quality, faster SOC, uSD card, decent screen, mostly vanilla Android (currently 4.4.2 and nVidia has promised L), and a capacitive stylus that works worth a damn.
The perfect e-book store: Baen Books did it 15 years ago.
