Whew. Pretty tired this afternoon.

Yesterday morning, early, I went down to the Biokinetic clinic for my exit physical, since I'm not going to be able to continue in that study. After that, I had breakfast and came back home, but my splint was giving me some trouble. It was rubbing against my wrist bone, and I was just afraid it was going to rub it raw. So I went back down to the Cox urgent care clinic.

They were very nice about the whole thing, even though this was my third time in there for this particular break. They took new x-rays, put another splint on, and didn't even charge me. And of course, I'll see the orthopedist on Monday morning.

After that, I happened to check the Groupon application on my iPod Touch and noticed that my Groupon for $20 at the Blue Bull was expiring a couple of days. I called my aunt and uncle to see if they would like to meet me there for supper, but they were too busy with things around the house to be able to get away. So I went myself, for lunch. It wasn't bad. I had a $7 third-pound burger that was more than I could eat, and spent the rest of the $20 on drinks. That's one bright side about not being on the medical study anymore, I suppose.

After that, I headed for home, and found the new Doctor Who episode had just finished downloading. I quite enjoyed it, though it also felt like it was over too soon— and it's going to be hard to wait several more months for the series to pick up again in the fall.

After a reasonably decent nights sleep, I got up, dressed, shaved, and headed out to the Picnic at the End of the Universe—the yearly potluck picnic event that the convention group I belong to puts on in the summer. It wasn't bad—in fact, it's still going on right now, and I'm considering going back there for a bit in an hour or two. But I just don't feel like I have all that much energy to spend running back and forth, and after a while I just felt like I wanted to come back home and relax for a while.

Also this morning, I obtained a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and installed it on my computer, and am using it now. The difference in command syntax from Windows speech recognition takes more than a little bit of getting used to, but I can already tell that, overall, it's a much better program, and much better at recognizing what I say. It's also a bit slower—there's a noticeable lag after I give it some commands, which there isn't with Windows. But I think I can live with it.

Annoyingly, I have discovered that the drain in my bathtub is now stopped up. I dumped a whole bottle of Drano down it, but it didn't seem to do any good. I guess tomorrow I'm going to need to hunt up the contact information for my landlord, and get in touch with him about having a maintenance person come out and do some serious drain unclogging.

Anyway, that brings you up-to-date on my weekend. Onward and upward!
