Looking out my front door, I find a winter wonderland. Where'... on TwitpicWe got five or six inches of snow since last night. I looked out my window today and discovered a winter wonderland. I went ahead and shoveled some paths through the snow to the dumpster, and to neighbors' doorsteps just because I happened to be there. Of course, it was still snowing so they're probably partly covered up by now.

Spent much of the day finishing reading Cory Doctorow's book Makers, an interesting story that considers the various ways in which 3D printers might end up changing the world (among other things).

On a whim, I phoned the last known good number I have for my old friend Joe Moore. He was a really good friend of mine during my college days, but we sort of drifted apart and it had been years since I had heard from him regularly. But as it happened, he was home at the moment, and we talked, and made plans to meet up at Park Central Square Wednesday afternoon to hang out. Hope it doesn't turn out to be too cold that day. Or at least too cold to get around.

This morning my folks reminded me I have a doctor's appointment in Columbia on Tuesday, but this evening they told me they're going to call and try to reschedule it. Seems that the snow is going to remain on the ground, we might even get more, and they don't want to make a trip to Columbia and back under those conditions. Hard to blame them. I'd personally rather just get it out of the way, but…

I continue to love my new laptop, but I'm having a really annoying time uploading the pictures I took at the folks' to facebook. The bulk uploaders I find keep crapping out.

Guess I don't have too much more to say at this point. Later.
