Brief notes from the edge of sleep
Jan. 13th, 2009 09:59 pmI should be in bed right now, but ere I go, a few quick bits.
The cable guy came this afternoon, replaced my cablemodem, and I'm back on the net.
I've been trying out a new "lifestreaming" website and I think I like it. My "lifestream" is at http://robotech.storytlr.com. It aggregates my Twitters, LJ, Flickr photos (and even puts them in order by the time they were originally taken, not by when I uploaded them), Yelp reviews, and other RSS feed-based stuff. It also lets me create "stories" by selectively tying together particular sources for given dates.
I got to ride the OATS commuter bus in to work this morning—though I had to freeze my buns off for several minutes outside while the driver tried to find my place. It was supposed to be a one-time only thing, but it turns out he'll be coming tomorrow, too. Meanwhile, I've gotten several carpool offers from co-workers, and if the OATS thing doesn't work out long-term, I'll be able to choose the one that is most convenient (or least inconvenient) for both of us.
I watched Jackie Chan's New Police Force tonight. Quite a good movie, albeit a bit unnecessarily brutal in certain areas. But the bus chase set piece and the near-end battle in a LEGO store were both worth the price of the DVD all by themselves. (Tip: get the one from DDDHouse, not the US version, as the US version has a cut and dubtitles.)
That's all for now. I need to be in bed to get up early to catch the bus! Good night!
