Tweets for Today
Nov. 18th, 2008 12:46 amHere are the things I am willing to confess to having done today:
- 15:05 Heading out to try to find a Quantum of Solace. Hope the theater has accommodations for wheelchairs. #
- 15:28 At wal-mart near the theater. #
- 15:54 In the theater, suffering through the preshow ads. #
- 18:05 Movie seen. Verdict: excellent...but way too much shakycam. Also saw new trek trailer, and The Spirit. #
- 18:10 Also: worst theme song EVER. #

Date: 2008-11-18 03:57 pm (UTC)I can't remember the tune to the new Bond theme and I only saw it yesterday.
And from what I remember of the experience of watching it, I'm better off that way.
As James Berardinelli put it, the theme song to Quantum of Solace is so bad it makes one long for Madonna.

Having the CD is probably what helped you with that. The song never really made it on radio, so I only heard it a few times. And all I can remember of it was the singing of the title, and it was sort of reminiscent of Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill."
I can't really think of a 'bad' Bong song (including QoS's), but a lot of them have been forgettable -- for me, pretty much all those not done by Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, Tina Turner, or Garbage. I'm not quite sure how I feel about QoS yet... Alicia Keyes's vocals are great, but they would have been better served by a Bassey-style orchestral backing, I think.
I'd love to hear a Bong song from, say, Evanescence.
