Hello, I should probably be polite and introduce myself and ask, may I friend you? Except I already have but LJ lays its traps like that. I so enjoy your posts, though, and just thought that I should maybe emerge from lurker (stalker?) dom into the scary light of commentage. Multifariously, of course. *hies off to do that vocab meme*

Certainly! I have an entry from a couple weeks back about how silly I find people who insist that they can only be friended with their permission. It's not like I could prevent you from reading my posts anyway if you wanted. If I cared about that sort of thing I'd lock my posts to be private.

I know all this and I think as you do but it's also nice, I find (despite my principles on the matter) when people come in and say 'hi' and so forth: so, *g*. Also, recently, a very weird person did suddenly friend me, and when I went over to their journal to find out a bit about them it turned out that they had suddenly friended by about 20 or more people on the same day, and they were all there in the same thread, saying 'who is this person?'. I ended up banning the user; I got a tad weirded out. Not, as you say, that I can stop the person reading my journal but I just preferred not to know that they were doing it.
