As I mentioned in a friends-locked entry a couple of weeks back, I am now no longer employed with the webhosting company that used to employ me. It was an amicable parting on both sides, and my health insurance is paid up until I find work, but it leaves me in the position of looking for employment.
I do have to admit that I'm at least in a better position to find work than I was before I got that job. I've got over two years of damn good work to my credit now, and a supervisor who is willing to praise me to the heavens. I've even gotten a couple of good professional references from resellers with whom I worked the most closely.
One of those resellers, being a busy man, has asked for me to write a reference letter for him, and he'll sign it and put it on company letterhead for me. This leaves me in both an enviable position and a bit of a quandary: I get to write my own letter of reference. This leaves me in a bit of a quandary: I've never written a letter of reference for anyone in my life, and now I'm supposed to write one for myself? How do I overcome my innate modesty to praise my skills as they deserve?
