robotech_masterWell, I'm here at work again, it's not very busy at all, so I'm just reading the City of Heroes web boards and things, thinking with trepidation of what's going to happen tomorrow evening and this weekend. My brother is supposed to check on the Internet situation at some time today, and it's just making me nervous not knowing.
This evening, I suppose I should start thinking about what to pack. Clothes, movies...games for my computer (if I bring it, if I have Internet).
It's funny...typically on those weekends I don't end up getting much sleep. Curfew is at 11, people usually talk in bed until 12, and then they get us up at 6. But for my brother, who does these outrageous 24-48 hour marathon sleepless stretches, it's like a vacation—he gets to sleep every night. Everything's relative.
My new TV, in case I haven't already mentioned it, looks great, especially with widescreen movies. Big screen; crisp, clear Trinitron picture. The only downsides are that the internal speakers sound a bit tinny (not that I would use them very often, but still) and in activating 16:9 mode for playing back widescreen DVDs takes no fewer than ten button presses on the remote to pull up the menu, navigate to the correct option, select it, change it, and exit. And when you turn off the TV, it reverts to standard 4:3 mode, so you have to do the whole thing over again next time you want to watch. Grrr.
But hey, what do you want for free.
