Storm Stuff
Jul. 5th, 2004 10:52 amYesterday there was a fairly big storm in the area. It downed a bunch of limbs from the trees around my parents' house, including one that knocked down some power lines. Power was out Sunday, which caused a slight change in their plans to observe the 4th down at the homeplace. Instead, they came up to my brother and sister-in-law's place in Springfield, we watched a movie and had dinner.
In the "children say the darnedest things" department: As my brother's family was going to church yesterday, they heard a long, loud, continuous roll of thunder; it seemed to go on for a good couple of minutes. Aeris, my toddler niece, asked what that was, and my brother (her father) told her that it was just God helping celebrate Independence Day.
Then there were a bunch of bright flashes of lightning, and Aeris said, "And that's God taking my picture!"
