Monday morning report
Mar. 29th, 2004 10:22 amAfter some time to think about it had passed, I headed out yesterday and went back to the fitness center and cancelled the membership. In the cold, clear light of day, away from the hard-sell, I realized that I really had just no need to add yet another $33-per-month debt to my already much-fought-over salary. It's a really good deal, and if I were still certain I would have a job three months from now, I would probably still be on it...but lately it's seemed as though just when I get ahead for a change, I have more debts kick into gear. So, I'll have to take my chances on prices being "much higher" when I finally do get ready to join.
Really, I feel better now that I have that load off my mind and don't have it to worry about. I should have known better, honestly. I'm such an easy sell, sometimes I feel like they shouldn't let me out on my own.
After that was done, I headed back home, and was briefly visited by my parents, grandmother, and great aunt. It was a very brief visit, and before long they were on their way again. I finished watching an anime that had been occupying me for the last couple of days—R.O.D. TV, and I highly recommend it—and then played some Max Payne 2 for the rest of the evening. I've beat it twice, so now I just have to finish it for a third time to get to the "secret ending." Looking forward to it...
Anyway, I've sent in requests to put both my student loans on forbearance for a while in the hopes that I can at least get ahead on my savings and credit card/hospital debt. And, of course, I'm going to try to get my rear in gear on the jobhunt front. Even if I still feel totally inadequate...
Well, there's supposed to be more info about how the company is going to be "helping us find new jobs" at work today. Supposed I'd better get in there and find out what it is.
