My brother Aaron came over this morning to slap my new DVD+/-ROM burner into my computer. It was a swift operation for him, given that he knows what he's doing. Of course, I know what I'm doing too, but he put the computer together for me and I'd prefer to be able to blame someone else if it goes wrong. :)
After he did that, I demonstrated my 5.1 speakers to him by playing some selections from Yes's "Fragile" album which I have as a 5.1 DVD-Audio disc. I was amused to note that, when one of the guitar flourishes from "Roundabout" came out the rear speakers, he actually turned around to look behind him for a moment. I had that reaction a bit myself at first.
I received a letter yesterday from SMSU about how they were going to be offering courses in Red Hat Linux certification...when I mentioned it to Aaron (the same brother I mentioned in that recent five questions post) he said that it was possible he would be helping teach it.
I'm looking forward to getting home at the end of the day to play with my new toy and burn off a lot of stuff. I should be able to reduce some of my forest of CDROMs down to just a few DVDs...though I think I will be careful what I do at first, given that each blank DVD costs about $1.70. I sure don't want to burn any coasters at that price!
Well, back to work. More later.
