Well, there was an awards ceremony today.
It turns out that, not only is the bay I'm in the top bay in the Springfield center for this quarter...
I'm the Top Rep in the Springfield Center for this quarter.
So, not only does the whole bay get to go to the awards ceremony banquet on October 21st...but I'm apparently going to get a rather large cash award for my sheer top-osity. My supervisor seemed to recall it being on the order of $500 (less 42% gift tax, of course). That'll come in some handy.
And the funny thing is, I'm still not even sure just how I did it. I wasn't even expecting to be recognized at all, let alone as #1 in the center. I mean, I don't feel like a Top Rep. I've gotten good quality, but only 85s (and one 80, now. sigh.) I'm sure there are people who've got 100s. I'm reasonably fast with the calls, but there are folks who are faster. I don't feel like I'm really doing anything special that should merit special recognition. Unless just trying to do the best job I can is considered special...
In less good news, I've learned that the supervisor for my new shift (which is at least the 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. one that I preferred most out of all the possible options) is going to be someone I've heard bad things in the bay about...that she doesn't let people in her bay read or anything. I'm not sure how much truth there is to those rumors, but it could get pretty old pretty fast if she's that strict.
Oh well...if life was easy, what fun would it be?
