I'd intended to talk about more than just my dreams last night here, but I ran out of time. I'll make another entry with my ruminations on outer space and OS X later on.

Last night, I had one of those oddball (and annoying) dreams last night where it was like almost remembering something you'd completely forgotten, to the point where you're not sure whether one of the MIBs came along to so completely expunge it from your memory, or you're just dreaming you remember it. I dreamed that some small music company, started up by one of the people from the Grateful Dead, was putting out music CDs or LPs (or memory-card devices each with a CD's worth of music embedded in it) from obscure acts and people I knew, and I had some of those CDs, but could no longer find them or even remember who performed on them (save that it was instrumental/synth music).

The fact that the one person whose identity I could actually remember as having recorded one of the CDs likely never performed a thing musically in her life leads me to believe my poor ol' subconscious mind was just conflating a number of unrelated facts—the number of obscure CDs I've been able to get ahold of, various small presses that have been re-publishing(some electronically, some in print) obscure books, and the archive.org archive of legitimately-bootlegged concerts—and there was just enough there that fit with each other to make me think they were all scraps of one memory instead of parts of different ones.

It's too bad, really. Now I have this urge to listen to a CD "again" that probably never existed in the first place.
