Call volume was very low. I only took about 24 calls all day—which is to say, 2.4 an hour, or an average of one call every 25 minutes. And each call was, on average, about 4 1/2 minutes long...which meant I got to spend over 80% of the time, or a total of about 7 1/2 hours (taking into account my two breaks), reading. And most of the other workers were all clustered together down at the other end of the bay, where they could talk while they were free...and where I couldn't hear them. I finished two whole novels today...and I got paid $20 an hour to sit around reading! Bliss. Pure and simple bliss. I can't wait to see what my paycheck looks like a week from Friday.
