It occurs to me I really should be making journal entries more often, but I've been so busy working, then so busy relaxing, that I haven't had the impetus to pick up the digital quill.

Recently, I came across a half-full book of bus ride tickets I'd bought way back when, long before I had a car of my own, and hadn't used since. I was going to throw them out, but I decided to call City Utilities and check and see if they were still any good. It turned out they were, so on Wednesday, I took the city bus up to the transfer facility, which is just a hop, skip, and jump away from the bike shop where the new-used bike I'd got was being repaired. Happily, they had finally finished work on it (after nearly two weeks) and so I was able to ride it home. I went back along Cherry street to where the railroad tracks cross the street, then rode along the shoulder of the tracks down to where they crossed Glenstone right up the street from my house. Observed some funny-looking construction machines straddling the tracks, doing whatever track maintenance things it is that they do. The railroad track has nice wide shoulders, which are a good way to get from my place to campus without having to deal with traffic (except when it comes to crossing Glenstone).

Work continues to be slow...not that I mind. I've been able to get a couple of good ebooks read in-between calls, and I'm planning to read more. It won't last too long, of course; we'll probably be getting really busy over the next few weeks as advertising hits for small business, but I'll enjoy it while I can. Last night, most of the two hours before it was time to go home were spent playing hangman with the two girls in the next cubicle over, in between calls. It was kind of fun; I wonder if we'll be able to do it again tonight.

Yesterday morning, I rode my bike down to a small coffeeshop near my place and had breakfast, and this morning I biked back along the tracks over to the SMSU campus, had breakfast, and visited my uncle Dennis. I'm hoping that I can find interesting places to ride every day so that I can get some good exercise in with the bike. So far, I seem to be getting along with less sleep than I'd expected, giving me more free time to do things I want to do.

Tomorrow, I'm going to need to throw myself into clean-up chores with a vengeance; my parents are coming up Sunday, and I want them to think that I'm keeping my place nice and neat and not backsliding. (Oops, are they reading this? :)

One last note: a seriously cool Japanese live-action series, Kamen Rider 555, is now becoming available again in fansubbed format via BitTorrent. Just get the client from that previous link, then go here and start downloading. The first three episodes are up so far, with more on the way. Don't miss it.
