robotech_masterWell, today is the first day I'm eligible to register for benefits down at MCI. I hope to get it done today or tomorrow. Best to go ahead and get it out of the way now, so I don't let the deadline pass by accident. However, I would kind of like to be able to consult with my parents while I'm doing that, and I can't seem to reach them at the moment. Not even their answering machine. I guess I'll try again later today.
My landlord said that he would try to get the key to me "sometime today" in a rather laconic email. This leaves me worrying a bit that he might come by while I'm not here and not be able to get it to me. I've left a message on his voicemail, hopefully he'll get it and call me; if I don't hear from him by about noon I'll go ahead and page him.
To my surprise and delight, I've found that the elderly fellow who sold me my previous bike is still ensconced in his house-with-garage behind the McDonald's at Cherry and Glenstone, and he still has plenty of bikes for sale. I test-rode one and liked it, and I'm going to take my old on-its-last-spokes bike back over there for a trade-in and parts swap. If I have a bike, and start riding it more, I suspect some of my pants might start fitting me better again.
