I woke up this morning from a really vivid dream—one of those that Morpheus was talking about, I suppose, when he asked if you'd ever had a dream you were so sure was real. It seemed so real to me that I was sad when I woke up from it—not because it what happened in it particularly good, but just because it meant a piece of what I thought was reality was fading away. The details are blurry, but the dream was that, in the second grade, I had written a book or done something on which a movie was based. Something about making a school band successful...and I'm not even musically inclined. My id probably fished it out of some long-forgotten TV-movie stored way back in my unconscious mind. I suppose I have the valerian to thank for that dream...perhaps it kept me in a deeper sleep than I've been able to have lately.

Training at MCI proceeds apace. Today, and likely for the rest of the week (or at least until something else changes) we're stuck in this little sardine can of a room with barely enough space for us all to sit, and one too few computers so that two trainees have to share one. Nobody really likes the closeness, and some tempers have frayed already; one of the two remaining rambunctious black girls in the class went off on another girl, refused to shut up when the instructor asked her to, and he ended up ordering them both to come out of the classroom with him and talk for several minutes. I don't know what he said, but the girl seems to have settled down...for now. Also, the "instant win" card redemption account finally came through, and it turns out my card won me a $10 pay-out. It'll get put on the MCI Rewards card that I'm due to get by the end of the week. (Of course, $4.20 of it will be taxed out of my next paycheck, but that's still going to leave me with $5.80 more than I had.)

On Saturday, the landlord left a note on my car in reference to a note I'd sent with an earlier rent check that I was thinking about moving. He said that he might have a couple of other apartment possibilities for me. I just called him to check it out, and he has a couple of sites that are roughly comparable to the one I looked at a few weeks ago, only not as conveniently near MCI as that one. I'm going to get back in touch with him on Saturday to check them out...he's been a decent enough landlord, and it's good to keep my options open.

On Sunday, I watched Spirited Away again, with my uncle Denis this time. He was noncommittal enough after the movie that I expect he probably didn't like it and was trying not to hurt my feelings, but I expect he was broadened by the experience, and at least the flick got his $5 of ticket money. I need to go see it a couple more times while it's still playing.
