Nov. 7th, 2002 09:00 amI'm out of a job, and now looking.
But enough on that. Yesterday, I had a job interview at Walmart, and on the way home, stopped at a dollar shop to see what stuff they had. It's funny, those one-dollar shops seem to be springing up all over. My town has at least two of them besides having several locations of the "Dollar Shop" chain. Anyway, I was in one of them, and I was startled to notice that, for $1, they had a hands-free earphone made specifically for my model of cellphone. Given that the $30 one I got with the phone stopped working after a couple of days, I figured "Why not?" and bought it. It seems to work well enough.
I also found out yesterday that the BMW Films series starring Clive Owen is back with three new films, two of which are now available for downloading. One of them is directed by John Woo and guest-stars Maury Chaykin. The other one's directed by someone with whom I'm not familiar and guest-stars Don Cheadle and F. Murray Abraham. I'm really looking forward to the third, which will star James Brown and Gary Oldman...
And in news of the bizarre: it seems New York has a costumed superheroine—a woman who calls herself Terrifica and goes around trying to save drunk women from themselves. People are strange...
