I had asked my supervisor to try to make sure that I had Monday & Thursday afternoons (or whole days) off, because those were the days on which I planned to sell plasma. And so I was going to be working yesterday morning, then coming home to sell plasma.
Well, plans changed when a driver took sick. So my supe let me off a little early so I could sell plasma on my break, then work again in the evening. I didn't mind, given that I'd make a lot more money that way anyhow. In the end, between tips and plasma, I came home with a little over $50 more in my pocket than I had that morning. Not a bad haul at all.
Another high point of the rounds last night: as I was heading out of a far-outlying semi-rural subdivision of town (one of the places that's so far away we add an extra buck to our delivery charge for it), I found three deer running ahead of me and to the side of the road in my headlights. They seemed pretty tame...I stopped my car next to one and observed it with my flashlight, and it observed me back for a while.
Of course, since it was Halloween and all, I'm prepared to entertain the possibility that they might have been kids in very good disguises, but I somehow kinda doubt it.
Now, the night before last, that was some experience. After a reasonably good tip day, my car abruptly died on me about 7:30, and my supe had to have a friend come out and give me a jump. Apparently it's a common problem with the Ford Focuses they have to use. Bleah.
Just about time to head on in to work. Just a half day today, unless something happens—which is good, because I really need to do my laundry.
