Lost a job, got a job
Jul. 13th, 2002 05:07 pmThose of you who read me regularly but aren't on my friends list will not have known this yet, but I lost my Kmart job yesterday. I was pretty upset about it.
However, things are starting to look a little up. Because, just before going to bed last night, almost on a whim, I filled out an online application for a driver position at Quikdine, a food-delivery service here in Springfield. Today, I got a phone call back on it. The fellow wondered if I might be willing to come down and talk to him about it.
I did, and to make a long story short, as long as my DMV rap sheet doesn't show anything too hideous--and I doubt it will--I will hopefully be starting to drive next week. In their car.
The pay rate is $3.50/hr (or $3/hr nights) plus tips; I don't think it'll be anything permanent, but it sounds like it might be good for a while, to stave off the creditors at least. Here's hoping it works out.
