I don't know how many folks here have heard of Webscriptions, the e-book program that Baen Publishing has, but in a nutshell, for $15, you get all the books that Baen publishes in a given month, as e-books--downloadable in any of a variety of free, open formats for PDA, PC, or printing. The books are doled out starting three months prior to publication date: the first month, you get the first 50% of each book; the second month, 25% more is added; the third month, you get the last 25%. You can check for yourself if you'd like to know more about the formats of availability; that's not important just now.
What is important is that, every time one buys a month of Baen books, he has the option to give that same month as a gift to someone who has never before bought from Baen. And I'm looking for someone who'd like to receive that gift this month--I figure I might as well not waste it, and maybe someone else would like to see part of that next Honor Harrington book a little early.

If you don't mind reading e-books, and would like to get a crack at the first half of the newest Honor Harrington book three months before publication, leave a comment here so I'm not deluged with email. First come first serve!
