My Day; Compassrose Thoughts
Jun. 21st, 2002 12:00 amWell, today I whizzed around hither and yon, shipping an overdue-to-be-shipped eBay package, picking up my paycheck, and paying on various bills. I had to do the "pay only half the rent" thing this week, and hope I can cut the rest out of my next paycheck without endangering any other bills then. I used the remaining $100 or so to pay a token amount on my much-overdue electricity bill, so at least they know I'm trying, and to put a little more in my credit card account so the phone & Internet bills don't bounce when they go there later this month. (Assuming they haven't already gone there.) I have about $30 left now, for emergencies and the weekend trip to St. Louis for my brother's wedding in 8 days. I hope I can hit the folks up for some cash to cover gas for a drive up there and back. I'd really rather go in my own car; last time I went to St. Louis for a wedding I had to pool with them and it caused all sorts of trouble.
It looks like the
compassrose Nobilis game is about ready to get off the ground. The GM has reached his required 20 players, so that each chancel will have 5. I'm looking forward to it immensely, and with a slight touch of trepidation. Though I imagine that's nothing to the trepidation
mgrasso must be feeling about it! I shudder to think of the organization required to run a 20-player PBeM...fortunately, the structure is such that it can be considered more like four separate but interrelated games, given the different Chancels...and in Nobilis, the players actually share a lot more responsibility for building and running the world, so it might be less troubling than one might think. I just hope he's up for it.
Well, I'm going to go shower and try to get a good night's sleep now; I have an eight-hour day tomorrow, and another on Saturday. I hate the long hours...but on the other hand, those two days alone add up to $112 in pay...and with that plasma center closed for renovation (damn their eyes) I need all the cash I can get. I just hope nothing sucky happens that gets me fired...
