I really, really hate my neighbors. They seem to have some kind of a problem with me playing my radio. During normal daylight hours. At all.

Apparently the walls are quite thin, and the bass from my subwoofer bothers them. Even when I play it at normal volume with the bass cranked way down, when a song comes on that has loud bass in it, thump thump thump, they knock on my wall. It's not even like they're trying to sleep or anything! It's 5 in the afternoon!

At least my last neighbor only minded if I played it loud after 9 at night, and he was gone on the weekends.

What can I do about this? Somehow I don't think complaining to the landlord is going to cut it.

Speaking from the opposite perspective: My previous apartment had very thin ceilings, with no soundproofing whatsoever. I could hear every step the upstair neighbors made. It drove me absolutely nuts, and on the bad days would occasionally drive me dangerously close to emotional breakdown. If the walls are really thin, it's not their fault -- they need their peace and quiet too. And, of course, the landlord denied it was a problem.
That said, that sucks. My solution was to a) hope the neighbors moved out, and eventually, b) move. I hope you arrive at a more cost-effective solution. :)
