Happy Mozilla 1.0 Day!
Jun. 5th, 2002 01:24 pmI don't expect many people outside of the open-source community will understand precisely why this is such a big event, but the 1.0 version of the Mozilla open-source web browser has finally been released after four years of development. The project had so much trouble at the beginning that a lot of people were worried it would never come together. But now it has.
I've been using Mozilla as my primary browser on both Linux and Windows for several months now, and it's definitely come a long way. On Windows, I'd venture to say it's even better than Internet Explorer for many purposes...and on Linux, it's about the only choice if you want something that works.
If you've never tried it, check it out...you might just like it.
