Goin' to Jericho
Dec. 7th, 2001 11:50 amThe movie is Jericho. It's a Western, made by a Springfield director (who formerly taught at the college I attend), and starring some Springfield talent (most notably Woody P. Snow, a local radio station D.J. who had a national country music hit duet, "Underground River," with some female singer a while back) as well as some "real" actors--including Mark Valley, Leon Coffee, and drill sergeant R. Lee Ermey.
The user comments from those who've seen the movie already (at film festivals, undoubtedly) have been good, and it's also taken some awards at film festivals--the 2000 Crystal Palm Award for Best
Feature, and the 2001 Platinum Award for Independent Theatrical Feature Films - Action/Adventure. I've been going through a Western kick recently, the comments are promising, and I figure I might as well see it at the premiere as anywhere else . . . so I guess I'm going. Besides, I've never been to a movie's national theatrical debut before. It might be fun!
I'll post some comments on it when I get back from it tonight.
