robotech_masterWell, I went up and put the modem in. The case was an Enlight, which meant it easily slid apart with hardly any screw removal even required. Twenty minutes up, ten to put the modem in, twenty minutes back. I only charged her $15. Perhaps I should have charged a few bucks more, but I think I'd rather have her feeling like she owes me a favor than those few more bucks in pocket. Anyway, $15 isn't bad for less than an hour, of which only about ten minutes was actual "work".
I happened to notice a news story today on my AvantGo selection that interested and delighted me. The nVidia nForce chipset, which is something I've been waiting for for a long time, is about to make its debut in a series of new motherboards, starting next week. For those of you who don't understand what I'm talking about, well, let's just say that it's the key to building a sleek, fun, and very fast new computer for myself--something in the 1 to 2 gigahertz range, I'd say. I'm definitely looking forward to it.
And finally, another bit of oddness...it seems that Michael Jackson isn't done with us yet. He's bursting back into the public spotlight with first a poorly planned and executed benefit concert, a new album (modestly titled "Invincible") on the way...and now a Michael Jackson Halloween special. All this at a time when the man looks less human (and, for that matter, less sexually differentiated) than ever before. I think I agree with Carina...Michael Jackson scares me, too.
And with that thought, it's time to inaugurate one of the keeno features of paid LiveJournalling that I've always wanted to try--and now, I have the chance! Please vote, everyone...not only will it let me know what you think, it'll also give me some idea of how many people are actually reading me. I have ulterior motives for everything, don't you know. :)
