A productive Memorial Day weekend
May. 29th, 2018 12:50 pmHad a pretty productive Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, I wandered down to a neighborhood garage sale and found a Keurig for $20, plus a K-cup organizer for $5. I'd been wanting one of those for a while, but couldn't afford a new one. So I snagged it.
( Then I got a cheap, old surround sound system, and some bookshelves! )
Anyway, now that the long weekend's over, I came in to work expecting a busy day due to the extra calls generated over a 3-day weekend--only to discover that right before I was due to clock in, the Internet went down completely, and it's been down for the last two hours. Apparently there was a halon dump in the server room, and they've been trying to get everything back up and turned on. Still no word from the supervisors if and when we'll be sent home, though if we are sent home, we'll still get paid in full for the day. I guess they want to keep us on the string as long as they can, if they're going to be paying us anyway. So I got out my tablet and keyboard and took a seat at a table to type this all in, since I've got the time.
