Gotcha! How much things have changed, eh?
Jan. 9th, 2014 07:01 pmSo, anyway, I backed a Kickstarter. For an intriguing little assassin game called Dustcloud that I wrote about here on TeleRead. My article explains it fully, but the idea is you have these little laser-tag-like guns that use radio beams, and link them to your smartphones for use in a social/geolocation-enabled game. I'm hopeful it gets funded; it would be such a neat toy.
That got me thinking a little bit. Anyone remember this movie? Starring the guy who would play "Goose" a year later in Top Gun, and the gal who would be "Elle" in the first Men in Black a few years down the road.
Just watch the first five minutes of it and shake your head in wonder at how much things have changed. Can you imagine the reaction to kids running around a college campus with big black paintball pistols these days? It would probably end up with someone getting lethally shot. Even the light-up zappy guns of Dustcloud have me worried a little bit.
Still, I hope more people kick in. I want to play this thing!
