- Wed, 12:14: Waiting for them to bring my breakfast. I'm starving!
- Wed, 12:37: Breakfast just came. Pancakes and sausage, grape juice, milk, execrable oatmeal, and, surprisingly, caffeinated coffee. GOOD coffee.
- Wed, 14:36: Parents are here to pick me up, and fuss a lot.
- Wed, 15:29: They're finally letting me out of the hospital. My parents are here, and we are going to eat, get my stuff, and get my prescription filled.
- Wed, 18:23: My Dad, ever a soft touch, found a cute mewling kitten on my doorstep and promptly adopted it. It's making the trip home with us.
- Wed, 19:22: Home, but not without excitement. Mom tried to introduce new cat to old dog. Result: 1 terrified cat, 1 perplexed dog, 1 cat-bitten Mom.
- Wed, 23:47: Domino, the cat my Dad adopted. http://twitpic.com/5c3hpv
- Wed, 23:49: Domino relaxes in my lap on the way home Note the splint and Ace bandage on my left arm. http://twitpic.com/5c3i5w
- Wed, 23:54: My computer set up in the upstairs belvedere of my parents' house. And me, complete with swollen arm. http://twitpic.com/5c3k76

Recovery: Day 2
Jun. 16th, 2011 05:41 pmMy arm has been doing well today, not hurting as much, though that might be attributable in part to the time I spent lying down with it propped up on my chest, above the level of my heart, so swelling could go down – and also the icepack that I've kept on it. I've started backing off on the painkillers a little, and we'll see how tomorrow goes in that regard.
( Weird dreams, teaching parents to text, and a surprise visit from a sizable family. )
Anyway, it's about 5:30 now, and the brother and family are expected to arrive in about four hours. I'm going to go make sure that I've gotten all my stuff out of the bedroom where I had been sleeping, since it's going to be needed for the kids. Looks like I'll be sleeping on a futon tonight. On the bright side, it's right next to the desk where my computer is…
